Obituary of Ronald Edward Schellenger, Sr.

Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Edward Schellenger, Sr. of Old Monroe, MO will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Michael Lampe, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Ronald Edward Schellenger, Sr., 75, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at Assisted Living at the Meadowlands in O’Fallon, MO. Born September 4, 1948 in Ferguson, MO, he was the son of Harry Haword and Catherine Anna Wiget Schellenger. Ron was a graduate of McClure High School in St. Louis. He worked as a truck driver for Concord Homes and Southern Cross Building Products, retiring in 1998. Ron was a member of Teamsters Local #682 in St. Louis. Ron was united in marriage on June 26, 1982 in St. Charles, MO to Cindy Jeanne Wilke, bringing Ron’s children, Ronald, Jr. and Tricia to the family. Ron and Cindy’s marriage was blessed with Christina and Steven. Ron was a member of the Old Monroe Knights of Columbus Council #10144; and a 4th Degree Knight of the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Assembly No. 571, St. Charles County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and his truck. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Catherine Schellenger. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Cindy Schellenger of Old Monroe; four children: Ronald Schellenger, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of St. Louis, Tricia Hemstock of St. Peters, MO, Christina Gnade and Steven Schellenger and his wife, Lauren, of Old Monroe; ten grandchildren: Brandon, Aaron, Will, Henry, Ethan, Millie, twins: Danielle and Taylor, and twins: Holden and Hudson; and four great-grandchildren: Layla, Mackenzie, Maggie and Lincoln. Ron also leaves one brother, Harry Schellenger and his wife, Sheila, of St. Peters, MO; his former wife, Linda Schellenger of St. Peters; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
