Obituary of Keith Moran Palmer

Funeral Services for Keith Moran Palmer of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Sam Byers, pastor of Elsberry First Baptist Church and Rev. David Rubemeyer, Director of Gospel Reach Foundation reaching Panama and Colombia, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Carlos Donald, Andrew Donald, Greg Pflasterer, Bryan Collins, Brad Canalejo and Tim Montgomery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Hammack, Jerry Wagner, Denny Lovelace, Billy Collins, Lance Long, Kelly Long and Mark Long. Keith was born on June 5, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away Sunday evening, November 12, 2023 at his home in Ballwin, MO. Keith was 76 years old. He was the son of Thomas Arlington and Marie Moran Palmer. Keith was a 1965 graduate of Elsberry High School. He attended William Jewell College before attending Mizzou where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Education in 1969. Keith married the love of his life, Judy LaRue Palmer on June 22, 1968. They were blessed with two children: Lisa Renee and Mark Alan. Keith served his country in the United States Army from 1970-1972 when he was honorably discharged as a Spec. 4. Keith was an educator, coach and athletic director, first in the Bowling Green R-1School District and many years in the Elsberry R-2 School District. He retired in 1999. Keith collected basketball cards, made model cars and had an obsession for mowing his yard. Keith was an active Deacon at Elsberry First Baptist Church for many years, and at Fellowship of Wildwood since 2017. He loved the Lord God with all his heart and served with a willing and loving spirit. Keith will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hugo and Maggie Moran , and Harry and Annie Palmer; his parents, Ting and Marie Palmer; his in-laws, John and Ima Dean LaRue; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Marian LaRue. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Judy Palmer; his children: Lisa (Carlos) Donald and Mark Palmer, all of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Rachel and Andrew Donald; his brother, Stephen (Theadosia “Teddy”) Palmer of Port Haywood, VA; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
