Obituary of Diane Renee Penrod

Visitation for Diane Renee Penrod of Winfield, MO will be from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Private Graveside Services will be at Old Alexandria Cemetery near Troy, MO. Diane, 83, passed away Friday night, September 15, 2023 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy. Born December 14, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, she was the fourth of six children born to Ova Allen and Ida Mae Bennett Norris. Diane was united in marriage on September 29, 1956 in Troy to Billy Lee Penrod. This union was blessed with three sons: William Allen, Kenneth Lee and Steven Earl. Billy and Diane owned the IGA in Old Monroe, MO for many years. She was also a cook for the Winfield R-4 School District. Diane was a member of Corinth Christian Church and loved singing at church and with Christian groups. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ova and Ida Norris; two brothers: Richard Allen and Paul Tracy Norris; and her beloved husband of 41 years, Billy Penrod, on April 5, 1998. Survivors include their sons: Allen Penrod, Kenny Penrod and his significant other, Mona Dixon, and Earl Penrod and his wife, Debbie, all of Winfield; eight grandchildren: Jeffrey, Michael, Jacob, Michelle, Rachael, Heather, Zackery and Gregory; and eleven great-grandchildren: Owen, Claire, Kiri, Riley, Jordan, Kaya, Sammy, Thomas, Wyatt, Kayleigh and Keri Ann. Diane also leaves two brothers: Arthur Norris and his wife, Marilyn, and Robert Delayne Norris and his wife, Barbara, all of Troy; one sister, Patricia Lee “Patty” Polston and her husband, Charlie, of Troy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
