Obituary of Gary Eldren Krieg

Memorial Services for Gary Eldren Krieg of Moscow Mills, MO will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Eugene Rahmeier, pastor of Friedens United Church of Christ of Moscow Mills, and Rev. Layne Chartrand, pastor of Highland Prairie Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Highland Prairie Cemetery near Old Monroe, MO. Mr. Krieg, 81, passed away Wednesday evening, July 12, 2023 the result of an accident on Highway 47 year Winfield, MO. Born April 24, 1942 in Moscow Mills, MO, he was the son of Frank and Willie Rachel Westerman Krieg. Gary was a 1960 graduate of Troy High School. He was united in marriage on June 25, 1965 in Old Monroe, MO to Glenda Lucille Cannon. This union was blessed with two children, Mark and Tracy. Along with farming most of his life, Gary owned and operated Krieg Trucking for many years. He was a member and past president of the Moscow Mills Lions Club; and was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, one of the Lions Club’s highest honors. He was also a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau, the Lincoln County Farmers Coop and the Missouri Extension Center. Gary was a long-time member of the Highland Prairie Church near Old Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Willie Krieg; and his beloved wife of 56 years, Glenda Krieg, who died on December 22, 2021. Survivors include his son, Mark Krieg and his wife, Talena, of Moscow Mills; his daughter, Tracy Linhoff and her husband, Charles, of O’Fallon, MO; four grandchildren: Jacob Linhoff and his fiancé, Ellen Fields, Emily Linhoff, Maddie Hubbard and Meghan Hubbard; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Linhoff and Brooklyn Polito. Gary also leaves his brother, Roger Krieg of Moscow Mills; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
