Obituary of Dagny (Trescott) Chaney

Funeral Services for Dagny (Trescott) Chaney of O’Fallon, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Burial will be at Olney Cemetery in Olney, MO at a later date. Ms. Chaney, 60, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 2023, at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon. Born June 13, 1962 in Seattle, WA, she was the daughter of Lewis Thomas Trescott and Margaret Ann Parrish. Dagny was a 1980 graduate of Elsberry High School. She earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Meremec Community College. She worked as an R.N. at St. Luke’s Hospital for over 30 years. Dagny was a self-proclaimed botanist with two green thumbs. She enjoyed traveling with her children to various states. Dagny was often found playing scrabble, watching birds and sitting amidst her beautiful landscape. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann Parrish. Survivors include her children: Madeline Isa Chaney of O’Fallon, Benjamin Louis Chaney and his wife, Kylie Jean, of Moscow Mills, MO, and Miranda Lillian Glenville and her husband, Adam Joseph, of Colorado Springs, CO; and one granddaughter, Caroline Jean Chaney. Dagny also leaves her father, Lewis Thomas Trescott and his wife, Cathy, of O’Fallon; one brother, Bradley William Trescott and his wife, Sue of Estero, FL; one sister, Angela Parrish Simmons and her husband, Sean, of Florissant, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
