Obituary of Paul David Mozier

Funeral Services for Paul David Mozier of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Brenda Linton, of Asbury United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Farris, Leonard Calvin, Steve Taylor, Bob Linton, Jeff Ostrander and Shawn Strange. Mr. Mozier, 78, passed away Monday afternoon, January 23, 2017 at his home. Born October 17, 1938 in Purque, MO, he was the son of Efton and Lora Dell Calvin Mozier. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the United States Coast Guard from November 15, 1955 until he was honorably discharged on November 14, 1959. Paul was united in marriage on December 27, 1958 in Elsberry to Iris Jeanette Elston. This union was blessed with three children: Tina, Mark and Lance. Paul worked as an electrician and retired from Smithkline-Beecham in 1996. In his spare time, Paul loved hunting, fishing and archery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Efton and Lora Mozier; three brothers: Virgil Mozier, Alva Mozier and Vincent Mozier; and one sister, Dorothy Wright. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Iris Mozier; their children: Tina R. Mozier of O’Fallon, MO, Mark D. Mozier of Winfield, and Lance D. Mozier of Troy; one granddaughter, Chelsee R. Strange and her husband, Shawn, of St. Peters, MO; and two great-grandchildren: Cruz Michael Strange and Leighton Sage Strange. Paul also leaves one brother, John Mozier of Old Town, FL; two sisters: Alfreda Alstat of Murphysboro, IL and Doris Melinhar and her husband, Arnold, of St. Louis, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
