Obituary of Richard Harold Wienecke

Funeral Services for Richard Harold Wienecke of Moscow Mills, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winfield, will officiate with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Palmer, Jacob Palmer, Clarence “Skip” Palmer, Steven Voss, Shayne Voss and William Shea. Mr. Wienecke, 82, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 6, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born March 14, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Louis and Margaret Bryant Wienecke. He graduated with the Class of 1952 from Beaumont High School in St. Louis. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army from August 1, 1956 until he was honorably discharged on July 31, 1958. Richard was united in marriage on June 20, 1960 in St. Louis to Marian Stockton. This union was blessed with one daughter, Laura Collette. He was employed for 40 years as a machinist at McDonnell-Douglas aircraft manufacturing (now Boeing) in St. Louis, MO, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Machinist Union IAM #751 in St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Margaret Wienecke; one brother, Louis Wienecke, Jr.; one sister, Kathryn Baum; and his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Marian Stockton Wienecke, who died March 16, 2010. Survivors include one daughter, Laura Palmer and her husband, Clarence “Skip”, of Winfield; and two grandsons: Matthew Richard Palmer of Winfield, and Jacob Taylor Palmer of Springfield, MO. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
