Obituary of Martha Josephine Pritchett

Funeral services for Martha Josephine Pritchett of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Conrad Cheatham will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Hagemeier, Slade Pritchett, Steve Gray, Pat Fakes, Tom Bowles, and David Beauchamp. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Gray and Jack Burkemper. Mrs. Pritchett, 87, died late Monday night, April 18, 2016 at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, MO. Born August 28, 1928 near Elsberry, she was the daughter of the late Olon Albert and Lelia Lucretia Graham Gray. She was a 1946 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on July 3, 1948 in Elsberry to Robert Edward Pritchett. This union was blessed with three children: Malaine, Leon and Linda. She attended secretarial school in Kansas City, MO and was employed at Wells-Lamont Glove Factory in Elsberry before joining her husband in operating the family farm. She was involved with Lincoln County Pork Producers, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, and Missouri Farm Bureau. She was a member of AEP Club, the Lincoln County Democratic Club, and a life-long member of the Elsberry A.R. Presbyterian Church, where she served as treasurer for the Sunday School and women’s circle for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olon and Lelia Gray; her brother, Chester G. Gray; one sister-in-law, Betty Gray; one brother-in-law, Walter Pratt; and her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert Pritchett, who died April 14, 2006. Survivors include three children: Malaine Hagemeier of Elsberry, Leon Pritchett and his wife, Jennifer, of Elsberry and Linda Koch and her husband, Craig, of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Dustin Hagemeier and his wife, Lindsey, of St. Peters, MO, Katie Pritchett and Slade Pritchett, both of Elsberry; one sister-in-law, Hazel Pratt, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Joseph R.
