Obituary of Judith Ann Helmick

Funeral Services for Judith Ann Helmick of Winfield, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, Rev. Dennis Pycraft of Indianapolis, IN and Rev. Tim Yankee of Ludington, MI, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Helmick, Tim Helmick, Terry Helmick, Randy Helmick, John Helmick and Chad Helmick. Mrs. Helmick, 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Bridgeton, NC. Born July 9, 1942 in Belleview, MI, she was the daughter of Dale Samuel and Barbara Wilma McComb Smith. She was united in marriage on December 15, 1962 in Traverse City, MI to Roger D. Helmick. This union was blessed with four children: Kelly, Kevin, Tim, and Terry. She was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Winfield and the Women's Bible Study Fellowship at First Baptist Church in St. Charles, MO. She loved spending time with family and friends, including traveling to visit with those in other parts of the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Barbara Smith; one brother, Bill Smith in 2005; and three sisters: Patricia Smith as an infant, Deanna Lile in 2011, and Linda Kaley in 2012. Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Roger Helmick of Winfield; one daughter, Kelly Helmick of St. Charles; three sons: Kevin Helmick and his wife, Sheryl, of Bridgeton, NC, Tim Helmick and his wife, Char, of St. Peters, MO, and Terry Helmick and his wife, Samantha, of Emden, MO; and nine grandchildren: Emily, Tanner, David, Courtney, Caleb, Tyler, Michael, Logan and Alyssa. She also leaves two sisters: Shelley Patch of TX and Sue VanDerske of MI; cherished family members; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She will be missed by her beloved sheltie, Patrick. Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 6:30-8:00p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Winfield.
