Obituary of Donald Edward Leverenz

Funeral Services for Donald Edward "Eddie" Leverenz of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery. Mr. Leverenz, 73, passed away early Thursday morning, March 28, 2013 at the home of his daughter in St. Charles, MO. Born August 20, 1939 in St. Charles, MO he was the son of Walter C. and Pauline M. Horstmeier Leverenz. He was united in marriage on June 14, 1957 in St. Charles to Mary Elizabeth Tayon. This union was blessed with two children: Donald Edward and Meta. He worked as a drywall hanger for John Bender, retiring in 2004 after 40 years. He was also a riding boss for John Bender. He was a member of Local #1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pauline Leverenz; one brother, Carl Leverenz; two sisters: Paula Himes and her husband, Terry, and Frances Leverenz as an infant; and his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary Leverenz, on November 10, 2000. Survivors include one son, Donald Edward Leverenz of Winfield; one daughter, Meta Vollmer of St. Charles; two grandchildren: Jessica McDonald and Deanna Myler and her husband, Stuart; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Myler. He also leaves two sisters: Barbara Ann Hogg and her husband, James, of St. Charles and Margie Leverenz of Texas; Mother-in-law, Rose Tayon of Winfield; one sister-in-law, Joyce Tayon of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
