Obituary of Dorothy Mae Trescott

Funeral Services for Dorothy Mae Trescott of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Karla Cunningham pastor of Makin Memorial United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Trescott, Jeremy Trescott, Harry Jones, Shelby Jones, Matt Jones, Brian Wehde and Wayne Wehde. Mrs. Trescott, 85, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born May 1, 1927 in Truxton, MO she was the daughter of Samuel and Olive Evans Weeks. She was a 1946 graduate of Troy High School. She was united in marriage on October 26, 1947 in Troy, MO to Ray Edward Trescott. This union was blessed with three children: James Phillip, David and Gail. She was a housewife. She was a member of Makin Memorial UMC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Olive Weeks; one son, Phillip Trescott on February 21, 2000; one daughter, Gail Trescott who died at birth; two sisters: Eileen Jones and Rosalee Hoff; and her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Ray Trescott on September 20, 2007. Survivors include one son, David Trescott and his wife, Carla, of Winfield; one grandson, Jeremy Trescott and his wife, Evelyn, of Wentzville, MO; and four great-grandchildren: Denise, Gregg, Dana and Lisa. She also leaves one brother, Quentin Weeks and his wife, Lil, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Winfield Cemetery or Makin Memorial UMC in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home; 3838 East Highway 47; P.O. Box 253; Winfield, MO 63389.
