Obituary of Marcella Lorraine Tayon

Funeral Services for Marcella Lorraine Tayon of Winfield, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of First Baptist Church of Winfield, will officiate with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be David Meadows, Ray Meadows, Ricky Masterson, Reggie Clowers, Wayne Wehde, Tyler Wehde and Derrick Miller. Mrs. Tayon, 89, passed away early Thursday morning, December 6, 2012 at Mount Carmel in St. Charles, MO. Born November 24, 1923 in Foley, she was the daughter of Frank Marcellus and Frederica J. "Ishe" Tannehill Sanders. She graduated high school in Elsberry, MO. She worked as a secretary for Malcolm Reed Trucking and later as a seamstress for Angelica Manufacturing. She was united in marriage on March 28, 1944 in Elsberry to William Randall Tayon. This union was blessed with one son, William Frank. She then was a homemaker. Mrs. Tayon was a member of the AMA DE CASA Club in Winfield and the MO Extension Homemakers Club in Troy, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frederica Sanders; one brother, Perry Thomas Sanders; one great-nephew, Jeff Meadows; and her beloved husband of 44 years, Randall Tayon on October 4, 1988. Survivors include her son, Bill F. Tayon, and his companion, Paula Martell, of St. Peters, MO; one sister Darline Morris of Winfield, MO; one brother-in-law, Gerald Tayon and his wife, Betty, of Winfield; and one sister-in-law Donna Sanders of Foley, MO. She also leaves one nephew, David Meadows and his wife, Melba, of Winfield and one step-nephew, Danny Broyles and his wife, Pat, of Foley; three nieces: Linda Meadows of Winfield and Tammy Miller and her husband, James, of Troy, MO, and Loeta Wesselschmidt, and her husband, Michael, of O'Fallon, MO; three great-nephews: Ray Meadows and his wife, Melissa, of O'Fallon, Jeffrey Wesselschmidt of New York City, NY, and Andy Wesselschmidt of St Joseph, MO; one great, great-niece, Breanna Meadows; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
