Obituary of Theodore Martin Evans

Funeral Services for Theodore "Ted" Martin Evans of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield. Rev. Craig Rogers, church pastor, and Rev. David Thompson will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Evans, Ronnie Evans, Rodger Evans, Reggie Evans, Rick Evans and Zach Evans. Mr. Evans, 62, passed away Thursday morning, November 8, 2012 at his home. Born November 3, 1950 in Pontiac, MI, he was the son of Henry Howard and Winifred Simmons Evans. He was a 1969 graduate of Winfield High School. He was united in marriage on April 27, 1968 in Winfield to Glenda Sue Parsons. This union was blessed with four sons: Russell Martin, Ronald Lawrence, Rodger Dean and Reginald Theodore. He owned and operated Evans Guttering, retiring after 35 years. He then worked as an inspector for Lincoln County Public Water #1 for four years. He was a member of Sun Valley Golf Club and a former member of the Winfield Lions Club. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Evans and one brother, Jim Evans. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Sue Evans of Winfield; four sons: Russell Evans and his wife, Dee, Ronnie Evans and his wife, Chris, Rodger Evans and his wife, Jody, and Reggie Evans and his wife, Kasey, all of Winfield; seven grandchildren: Samantha, Zach, Bailey, Isabelle, Theo, Addison and Josie; and six step-grandchildren: Louis, Darren, Daniele, Cory, Colby and Carly. He also leaves his mother, Winifred Evans of Pensacola, FL; two sisters: Marcella Newton of Holly, MI and Janice Lee and her husband, Marshall, of Pensacola; one brother, Rick Evans and his wife, Connie, also of Pensacola; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
