Obituary of Laraine Fay Lauritzen

Funeral Services for Laraine Fay Lauritzen of O’Fallon, MO will be at 2:00 p.m. on May 4th at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Laurie, 67, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born July 8, 1956 in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of Frank Lee and Arline Lucretia Axetell Lauritzen. Laurie was a 1974 graduate of Winfield High School. She worked as a production technician for MEMC, retiring in 2014 after 40 years. Laurie was united in marriage in 2016 in St. Charles to James C. Maue. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Arline Lauritzen. Survivors include her beloved husband, Jim Maue of O’Fallon. Laurie also leaves two grandchildren: Jaxson and Aubree Maue; one brother, John Lauritzen of Old Monroe, MO; four sisters: Carolyn Lee Furman and her husband, Stephen, of Girard, IL, Gwen M. Souza and her husband, Michael, of Old Monroe, Kristine Giesler of St. Peters, MO and Leslie Tiller of Old Monroe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Laurie loved spending time at the river. She enjoyed fishing, boating, wave running or just watching the water go by. She had many talents, which included playing several different instruments and possessed a lovely voice. There was not a baby born into her family that was not blessed with her crocheted baby blankets. Laurie was an animal lover. Large dogs and many cats had good lives under her care. She was also famous for spontaneous dancing no matter the location. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Service at 2:00 p.m. on May 4th at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
