Obituary of James Patrick Hart

James, also known to his family as “Oompa”, 73, passed away Sunday night, May 31, 2026 at his home. Born April 13, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Oliver Robert and Patricia Ann Morris Hart. James was united in marriage on February 17, 2001 in Tucson, AZ to Michelle Noel Gardner. James worked as a truck driver for many years, retiring in April 2023. He enjoyed spending time with his family, politics, telling stories, taking care of his animals, and woodworking. James was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Patricia Hart; one brother, Steven Hart; and his son, Sean Patrick Hart. Survivors include his beloved wife, Michelle Hart of Foley; three daughters: Christine Marie Dawson and her husband, Travis, of St. Louis, MO, Michelle Lynn Hart of St. Charles, MO and Sarah Teresa Warren and her husband, Raymond III, of Wentzville, MO; and four grandchildren: Keira, Remi, Skylar and Raymond IV. James also leaves four siblings: Robert “Bob” Hart, of Cedar Hill, MO, Gerald “Jerry” Hart and his wife, Mary, of Florissant, MO, Richard “Dick” Hart and his wife, Denice, of O’Fallon, MO and Mary Chapie of Wentzville; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A celebration of life for James Patrick Hart of Foley, MO will be held at a later date.
