Obituary of Lindell Edward Chamberlain

Funeral Services for Lindell Edward Chamberlain of Elsberry, MO will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Laura Taylor, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Gilot, Craig Cox, David Davis, Matthew Lowe, Eric Lowe and Rob Murphy. Lindell, 95, was born on August 11, 1930 in Elsberry, the son of Phillip Carlton and Aldulia Minerva Baker Chamberlain. He passed away Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2026 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Lindell was a 1948 graduate of Elsberry High School. He attended Central Methodist University and St. Louis University. He was a former All-State Trap Shooter. Lindell served his country in the United States Air Force from December 28, 1950 until his honorable discharge on August 17, 1954. Lindell was united in marriage on July 17, 1963 in Elsberry to Lee Ellen Watkins. This union was blessed with one daughter, Andrea. Lindell worked as an aircraft mechanic for TWA, retiring in 1994. He was a faithful member of the 6:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. Coffee Clutch at Casey’s and Rachel’s Restaurant in Elsberry. Lindell was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Aldulia Chamberlain; his sister, Phyllis Cox; his stepson, Harry Gene Ogden; his granddaughter, Lindsay Ogden Whyte; and his beloved wife of 51 years, Ellen Chamberlain, who died on December 26, 2014. Survivors include his daughter, Andrea Davis and her husband, David, of Elsberry; and four grandchildren: Amy Lowe and her husband, Eric, Joe Ogden and his wife, Lonni, and Jenny Garnett and her husband, Josey, and Mike Whyte; and nine great-grandchildren: Emily, Matthew, Mason, Ozzie, Gemma, Gibson, Ivey, Oakley and Chesney. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Joseph R.
