Obituary of Donna Lee Vogelgesang

A Memorial Mass for Donna Lee Vogelgesang of Troy, MO will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Fr. Michael Lampe, church pastor, will officiate with inurnment in the church cemetery. Donna, 81, passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2026 at the Abbey Senior Health in O’Fallon, MO. Born May 1, 1944 in Old Monroe, she was the daughter of Theodore Joseph and Aletha Irene Calloway Burkhardt. Donna was a 1962 graduate of Winfield High School. She was united in marriage on May 27, 1967 in St. Paul, MO to Ralph Vincent Vogelgesang. This union was blessed with three children: Patricia, Vincent and Kristine. Donna worked as a cafeteria aide for Immaculate Conception School. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a member and president of the Ladies Sodality. Donna was the former president of the Lincoln County Extension Council. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Aletha Burkhardt; one daughter, Patty Vogelgesang; one brother, Gene Burkhardt; and three sisters: Carol Raney and her husband, Charles, Dorothy Vomund and her husband, Charles, and Lois Mueller and her husband, Raymond. Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 59 years, Ralph Vogelgesang of Troy; one son, Vincent Vogelgesang and his wife, Pamela, of Ballwin, MO; one daughter, Kris Westhoff and her husband, Ron, of Winfield; and five grandchildren: Chelsea and Cassidy Westhoff; and Amber, Abby and Ryan Vogelgesang. Donna also leaves one brother, Donald Wayne Burkhardt and his wife, Vickie, of Alabama; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
