Obituary of Coletta Yokel

Funeral Services for Coletta Yokel of Cottleville, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Steven Bradshaw, pastor of Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Coletta, 89, was born on August 15, 1936 in Wayne County, MO, the daughter of Earl and Dorothy Wilson Keele. Coletta was a 1955 graduate of Greenville, IL High School. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1957 in Poplar Bluff, MO to George Henry Yokel, Jr. Coletta worked as a machine operator and inspector for General Electric. She was a longtime member of Star Hope Baptist Church. Coletta loved her community and church family. Coletta was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dorothy Keele; her siblings: Eugene Keele, Doyle Keele, Virginia Parker, Martha Westfall and Freida Middleton; and her beloved husband of 53 years, George Yokel, Jr., who died on October 22, 2010. Coletta is survived by one sister, Shirley Keele of Williamsville, MO; many nieces, nephews; and numerous friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
