Obituary of Sandra Esther Reiss

Visitation for Sandra Esther Reiss of Winfield, MO will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Sandy, 70, passed away early Monday morning, March 16, 2026 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born January 17, 1956 in St. Louis, she was daughter of Leon Tarlton and Selma John Parkinson Emery. Sandy was united in marriage on May 15, 1976 in St. Louis to Daryl Gene Reiss. This union was blessed with two daughters: Sally and Laura. Sandy worked as a pharmacy technician for St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement in 2018. After failing miserably at retirement, Sandy began working for Fastlane in 2019. She has served as Ward 2 Alderwoman since June 2022. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Selma Emery; her brother, Steven Esco Emery; and her beloved husband of nearly 45 years, Daryl Reiss, who died on October 22, 2021. Survivors include her daughters: Sally Petroff of Hazelwood, MO and Laura Kempf of Moscow Mills, MO; two granddaughters: Haley Reiss Kempf and Anya Jordon Petroff; one goddaughter, Chrissy Markham; and one godson, Dustin Crawford. Sandy also leaves one brother, Gene Algenon Emery and his wife, Vickie, of Tennessee; one sister, June Leslie Lopretta of Grubville, MO; one sister-in-law, Cheryl Williams of Troy, MO; her best friend, Heather McMillian; 10 nieces, 6 nephews, 25 great-nieces, 29 great-nephews, 13 great, great-nieces, 15 great, great-nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
