Obituary of Deborah Ann Lutz

Deborah Ann “Debbie” Lutz of Elsberry, MO passed away Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026 at her home. Born September 13, 1960 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Frank and Betty Hoffman. Debbie was united in marriage to Gary Joe Lutz. Debbie worked as a cashier for Shop N Save, retiring in 2018. She was the Shop Steward for Union Local #655. Debbie loved the outdoors: camping and fishing with Gary, watching birds and butterflies; and her greatest love was horses. Debbie enjoyed passing the time by painting ceramics and playing rummy. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty Hoffman; one brother, Kenneth Hoffman, and her beloved husband, Gary Lutz. Survivors include three children: Christopher Lutz and his wife, Dottie, of Elsberry, Kim Pagano and her husband, Todd, of Wentzville, MO and Melissa VanHorn and her husband, Cassidy, of Warren, MI; and eight grandchildren: Callie, Shane, Jonathan, Dylan, Aidan, Lillian, Nicholas and Joseph. Debbie also leaves two sisters: Constance Hoffman Beck and Donna Hoffman, both of Colorado; many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
