Obituary of Greg Curtis King

Funeral Services for Greg Curtis King of Elsberry, MO will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Military Funeral Honors will immediately follow service. Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Bonstell, Shaun Dodson, James Webster, Tyrone Henderson, Kevin King, Isiah Soto, John King, Jodi McCafferty, Ben Lewis and Dan Martin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donnie King, Alex King (Lil Mexican Gardner), Haley Harper and Mike White. Greg, 46, was born on August 22, 1979 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of Donald Eugene King, Sr. and Anita Parmer King. He passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at his home. Greg was a 1997 graduate of Elsberry High School. He served his country in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne from August 25, 1997 until his honorable discharge on December 20, 1999. Greg worked as a carpenter for Contech Building Components for 11 years. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. Greg has served as Commander of American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry since June 2023. He was a member of Carpenters Local #1596 in St. Louis, MO. Greg was preceded in death by his special second mother, Marsleen Kerr; his special brother, Curtis Kerr, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Dennis McCafferty, Jr. and Jared Bowser; his father-in-law, Michael Moore; and his uncle, David King. Survivors include his parents, Donald King, Sr. and Anita King; three brothers: John King and his wife, Margaret, Donald King, Jr., Kevin King and his wife, Angie; two sisters: Kim Martin and her husband, Dan, and Kayla King and her partner, Sarrah Gray; and his nieces and nephews: Amy King, Alex King, Emma King, Curtis King, Anna King and Raiden Martin. Greg also leaves his wife, Tori King; his special friend, Stevie Gore and her children: Kaili, Gage and Zoe; special second dad, Curtis Kerr, Sr.; special sister, Curtissa Kerr; step-son, Isiah Soto; his mother-in-law, Debi Bowser and her husband, Arnold; his brother-in-law, Jodi McCafferty; many other relatives and numerous friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to St. Louis VAHCS (US Department of Veterans Affairs), Disabled American Veterans (or) American Legion Post #226 in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
