Obituary of Mark Alan Mathew Slover, Sr.

Memorial Services for Mark Alan Mathew Slover, Sr. of Foley, MO will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. There will be visitation for friends and family starting at 5pm until services commence at 7pm. Fr. Eric Kunz, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, will officiate. Mark, 67, passed away Sunday morning, December 21, 2025, at his home. Born December 1, 1958, in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Kenneth William Slover Sr. and Mary Jane Jadinksi-Slover. He was united in marriage August 4th, 1978, in Springfield, IL to Brenda Charlene Rushing. This union was blessed with six children: Stephanie Suzanne, Mark Alan Jr., Seth Alan, Sara Suzanne, Mary Jane and Shannon Marie. Mark did asbestos removal work for many years and was a member of Asbestos Workers Union Local #1. St. Louis, MO. He loved to paint and could build or fix anything! Jack of all trades. Mark was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan, enjoyed riding dirt bikes, the outdoors, and grilling with the family. He loved watching Nascar, jamming out to good music, road trips, off-roading with his Dodges, Jeeps, or ATVs, and just enjoying all the precious things in life money could never buy. Mark’s wife Brenda, who spent over 50 loving years by his side, and 6 children together were his entire world. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Slover, Sr.; and three siblings: Michael, Sr., Kenneth, Jr., and Kathleen. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Brenda Slover of Foley; their six children: Stephanie Slover of Elsberry, MO, Mark Slover Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Seth Slover of Troy, MO, Sara Slover of Villa Ridge, MO, Mary Jane Slover of Foley, MO, and Shannon Slover of O’Fallon, MO; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mark also leaves two brothers: Steve Slover of Potosi, MO, Larry Slover of St. Charles, MO, and his baby sister Linda of Overland, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
