Obituary of Dennis Lee Uthe

A Celebration of Life for Dennis Lee Uthe of Old Monroe, MO will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Chain; 584 Highway OO; Old Monroe, MO 63369. The family would like to invite you to celebrate Dennis with food being served. Dennis, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, December 21, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO with his wife by his side. Born September 13, 1947 in Winfield, he was the son of Albert Gus and LaVerne Marie Powelson Uthe. Dennis was a 1966 graduate of Winfield High School. Shortly after, Dennis was drafted and proudly served his country from 1966-1971. He then went on to work and retire from MEMC Electronics in St. Peters. Dennis was united in marriage on July 18, 1969 to his high school sweetheart, Sally Lou McPheeters. This union was blessed with two children: Polly and Johanna. Dennis loved finding morels, fishing, playing pool and relaxing at the river house, just to name a few. He looked forward to the 4th of July parties and loved his fireworks. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and LaVerne Uthe; sister, Sandy Hemmer; daughter, Polly Uthe; and great-granddaughter, Adley. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Sally Uthe of Old Monroe; daughter, Johanna Uthe of Winfield; and three grandchildren: Josh, Madison and Elijah. Dennis also leaves one niece, Andrea Borchert; two nephews: Richie Hemmer and Jack Brinkman; many cousins, other relatives and friends. Truly a one-of-a-kind man, Dennis was known for his unwavering love and loyalty to the ones he loved and an undeniable kindness. There was a special spot in Heaven saved for Dennis.
