Obituary of Fae Ellen Mitchell

Funeral Services for Fae Ellen Mitchell of Foley, MO will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Terry Reese will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be William Mitchell, Chris Clemonds, Brian Montanelli, Jason Montanelli, Bradley Harris and Robert Maccluskey. Fae, 70, was born on June 6, 1955 in St. Charles, MO, the daughter of Eugene and Patricia Jane Riffle Stewart. She passed away early Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025 at her home. Fae obtained her Registered Nursing Degree. She owned a bake shop for many years. Fae was united in marriage on July 3, 1993 in Pittsburg, KS to William Ray Mitchell. Fae was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Patricia Stewart; and three brothers: Gene Stewart, Kevin Stewart and Andrew Stewart. Survivors include her husband, Bill Mitchell of Foley; four children: Chris Clemonds and his wife, Zhanna, of Elsberry, Brian Montanelli and his fiancé, Collette Riley, of Bowling Green, MO, Jason Montanelli of St. Louis, MO and Sara Harris and her husband, Bradley, of Panama City, FL; and seven grandchildren: Seth, Chloe, Hadley and Teegan Clemonds and Maximus, Holden and Aurora Harris. Fae also leaves two sisters: Joyce Amman of Elsberry and Mary Williams of Farber, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
