Obituary of Susan Marie Trower

Funeral Services for Susan Marie Trower of Elsberry, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside, MO will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Howard, Keith Conklin, Travis Loyd, Charlie Riffle, Patrick Riffle and Josh Turner. Susan, 73, was born on May 21, 1952 in Troy, MO, the daughter of Rodney Thurman and Virginia Lee Harding Riffle. She passed away Thursday morning, December 11, 2025 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO. Susan was a 1970 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on September 4, 1976 in Clarksville, MO to Paul Richard “Dickie” Trower. Susan worked as an automotive parts technician for Bodine. Susan lived at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab for the last five years of her life. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Virginia Riffle; three brothers: Allen Riffle, Lindell Riffle, and an infant; one sister, Elsie Dunn; and her beloved husband, Paul “Dickie” Trower on May 26, 2015. Survivors include three brothers: Charles Riffle and his wife, Helen, of Clarksville, Phillip Riffle of Elsberry and Kenneth Riffle and his wife, Tina, of Elsberry; and one sister, Rodena Conklin and her husband, Harold, of Drasco, AR. Susan also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
