Obituary of Mearle Wesley Lindsey
Funeral Services for Mearle Wesley Lindsey of Winfield, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Deacon Neal Westhoff of Immaculate Conception Church will officiate with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Lindsey, Bryson Lindsey, Rick Luetkenhaus, Luke Perlow, Jim Luetkenhaus and Roger Evans.
Mr. Lindsey, 81, passed away Friday afternoon, December 5, 2025 at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, MO. Born September 24, 1944 in Carrolton, IL, he was the son of Robert Glennon and Myrtle Isabelle Herring Lindsey. Mearle served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from January 24, 1963 until he was honorably discharged on January 19, 1966. He was united in marriage on June 11, 1977 in Troy to Lois Marie Dieckmann. Mearle was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator for John’s Crane Rental, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Union, Local 513 in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the VFW Post #7560 in Hawk Point, MO.
Mearle was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle Lindsey; two brothers: Bob Lindsey and Rick Lindsey; one great-granddaughter, Stella Nichole Lindsey; and his beloved wife of 33 years, Lois Lindsey who died in 2011.
Survivors include his sons: Christopher Wayne Lindsey and his wife, Sonia, of Troy, and Erin Wesley Lindsey and his wife, Cynthia, of Old Monroe, MO; one step-son, Thomas William Benear and his wife, Beng, of St. Paul, MO; two step-daughters: Yvonne Sherry Bedell and her husband, Roger, of St. Peters, MO, and Kim Lee Palmer and her husband, Charles, of Sullivan, MO; three grandchildren: Justin Michael and his wife, Hope, Michelle Renee and Brandon Wayne and his wife Whitney; and four great-grandchildren: Bryson, Hazel, Kayden and Kayleigh. Mearle also leaves two sisters: Connie Moser of Winfield, and Tammie Luetkenhaus and her husband, Rick, of Moscow Mills, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
