Obituary of Melissa Kay Throgmorton

Memorial Services for Melissa Kay Throgmorton of Troy, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Peine Ridge Church in Wentzville, MO. Melissa, 63, was born on January 14, 1962 in Kirkwood, MO, the daughter of Daniel William and Barbara Louise Clardy Hopkins. She passed away Monday afternoon, November 10, 2025 at her home. Melissa was united in marriage on December 14, 2004 in Troy, MO to John Russell Throgmorton. She was employed as a truck driver for Purpose Wrecker, LLC. Melissa was a member of Peine Ridge Church. She was a servant of her Lord Jesus Christ. Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Barbara Hopkins. Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 21 years, John Throgmorton of Troy; two children: Eric Maytas and his wife, Stephanie, and Amber Shocklee and her husband, DJ, all of Troy; and two grandchildren: Ariana and Samson Maytas. Melissa also leaves two sisters: Vicky Penland of Lenexa, KS and Carolyn Hopkins of Webster, WI; one niece, Jennifer Penland; two nephews: Christopher Penland and Travis Moser; one sister-in-law, Carla Emert of Troy; one brother-in-law, Kyle Throgmorton of Troy; other relatives and a host of friends. Fellowship will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
