Obituary of Irene Hopkins

Irene Hopkins of Old Monroe, MO was born January 30, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Dorothy Hopkins Wingo. She was a loving homemaker. Irene was united in marriage in May 1997 in University City, MO to Robert George Sims. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in March 2025. Her favorite thing to do was spoil her grandson, Xander. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sims; mother, Dorothy Hopkins Wingo; and two great-grandchildren: Ze’rion and Evelyn. Survivors include her son, Terrance Wallace and his wife, Adrienne, of Old Monroe, MO; nine grandchildren: Daniel, Erica, Jeremiah, Kristen-Tyler (KT), David (Dave), Aristotle, Xavier, Mirrakle, Markel and Xander; and six great-grandchildren: Zaneta, Nia, Aria, Giovanni, Naomi and Skylar. Irene also leaves her siblings: Arlene Wilkins, Mark Wingo and his wife, Pamela, and Marvin Wingo and his wife, Sylvia, all of St. Louis; seven nieces: Kimberly Taylor, Erica Wilkins, Alicia and Felicia Wingo, Tiara Mason, Lyncoya Tillman and Cynthia King; and her great-nieces and nephews: Chelsi, Shawn, Antwoun and Makayala; other relatives and friends. Graveside Services for Irene Hopkins of Old Monroe, MO will be at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
