Obituary of Mateo Esteban Mateo Martin

Visitation for Mateo Esteban Mateo Martin of Troy, MO will be from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Fr. Charles Tichacek, Senior Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Neier in Union, MO, will officiate a prayer service. Burial will be held at a later date in Nuevo Cemeterio in San Pedro Soloma, Guatemala. Mateo, 54, was born on August 24, 1971 in San Pedro Soloma, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, the son of Esteban Mateo Esteban Nicholas and Catarina Rodas Martin. He passed away September 2, 2025 in Troy. Mateo worked for China Buffet in Troy. Mateo was preceded in death by his parents, Esteban Mateo Esteban Nicholas and Catarina Rodas Martin. Survivors include wife, Dominga Diego Nicholas of Guatemala; and his siblings: Juan Carlos Esteban Martin, Domingo Esteban Martin, Maria Esteban Martin and Dolores Esteban Martin, all of Champaign, IL; other relatives and friends.
