Obituary of Robert Lee Lowry
Graveside Services with Full Military Honors for Robert Lee Lowry of Elsberry, MO will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Bobby Lee, 89, was born on May 1, 1936 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Harry and Evelyn Stewert Lowry. He passed away late Saturday morning, September 6, 2025 at his home. Bob served his country in the United States Marine Corps from May 6, 1955 until his honorable discharge on May 3, 1961. He was united in marriage in Overland, MO to Carole Ann Schlueter. This union was blessed with three children: Mike, Tammy and Chrissy. Bob worked as a head Chip and Scratch inspector for Ford Motor Company, retiring in June 2006 after 37 years of employment. He was the Past President of UAW Local #325 in St. Louis, MO, lifetime member of the VFW, and member of VFW Post #9064 in Elsberry.
Bobby Lee was a one-of-a kind man. He was a fantastic brother, son, husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and great, great-grandpa. He loved his family get togethers. His favorite hobbies were singing, playing his guitar and being by a bonfire. When Bob was younger, he played football with Elvis, and had his own recording studio. One thing special about this man was all of his family have nicknames that he gave them.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Evelyn Lowry; and three brothers.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Carole Lowry; their children: Mike Lowry and his significant other, Becky Robertson, Tammy Conoyer and her husband, Doug, and Chrissy Hankins and her husband, Randy; six grandchildren: Barbie and her husband, Charlie, Amanda and her husband, Tim, Heather and her husband, Matt, Kyle and his wife, Ashley, Katie and her husband, Troy and Cassie and her husband, Mikey; eighteen great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren. Bob also leaves one sister, Frida Sue Dallas of Wentzville, MO; other family and friends.
