Obituary of Patricia Lorraine Kelly

Graveside Services for Patricia Lorraine Kelly of Kirkwood, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Elmwood Cemetery near Mexico, MO. Fr. David Veit, pastor of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Patricia, 87, passed away late Thursday morning, September 4, 2025 at her home. Born December 17, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of James and Esther Max Hawkins. Patricia was united in marriage on December 19, 1959 in St. Louis to John Kent Kelly. This union was blessed with three children: Tracy, Jill and Jon. Patricia worked as the St. Louis County Assessor for many years. She obtained her Real Estate License. Patricia enjoyed spending time with Scoopy and her family, reading and shopping at Macy’s. Patricia was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kirkwood. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, James and Esther Hawkins; and her beloved husband of 58 years, John Kent, who died on April 22, 2018. Survivors include their children: Tracy Schafer of Kirkwood, Jill Hahn and her husband, Rodney, of Foley, MO, and Jon Kelly and his wife, Sheri, of Fenton, MO; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one more on the way! Patricia also leaves one sister, Diane Hawkins of St. Louis and numerous other relatives and friends.
