Obituary of Kenneth Ray Harris

Memorial Services for Kenneth Ray Harris, Sr. of Elsberry, MO will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Elsberry First Christian Church. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, church pastor, will officiate. Ken, 86, was born on July 22, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Donald and Lucille Martin Harris. He passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 17, 2025 at his home. Ken was united in marriage on April 4, 1959 in St. Louis to Florence Rose “Jackie” Mowry. This union was blessed with one son, Kenneth, Jr. Ken worked as a printer for St. Louis Graphic Arts, retiring in May 1994. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, finishing dollhouses his brother built, and most of all their family dinners. Ken’s most favorite thing to do was spend his time mowing the yard on his 28” Snapper. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Harris and Lucille Harris Marsden and her husband Delmar, who raised Ken; and three brothers: Donald, Charles and Allen Harris. Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Jackie Harris of Elsberry; their son, Ken Harris, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Adam Harris and his wife, Amie, of Elsberry, Crystal Riesenberger and her husband, Marc, of Waterloo, IL and Clayton Harris and his wife, Jenn, of Troy, MO; and six great-grandchildren: Flynn, Evelyn and Truman Harris and Brooklyn, Schuyler and Patrick Harris. Ken also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
