Obituary of Thomas B. Summers, Jr.

Memorial Services for Thomas B. Summers, Jr. of Bowling Green, MO will be at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Larry Bean will officiate. Tom, 72, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, MO. Born May 24, 1953 in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of Thomas B. and Cora W. Baker Summers, Sr. Tom was united in marriage on September 9, 1972 in O’Fallon, MO to Carol Bean. This union was blessed with four children: Michael, Matt, Michelle and Melissa. Tom worked as a maintenance mechanic for Reckitt. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Cora Summers, Sr.; two brothers: Roy Summers and Clifford Summers; and one sister, Naomi Molitor. Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol Summers of Bowling Green; their children: Michael Summers of Troy, MO, Matt Summers and his wife, Debbie, of Winfield, MO, Michelle Summers and her significant other, Kevin Bennett, of Winfield and Melissa Summers and her significant other, David Wansing of Winfield; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom also leaves four sisters: Jean Carpenter of West Virginia, Wilma Swiger of West Virginia, JoAnn Thompson of Pennsylvania and Sally Crawford of West Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until time of the Service at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
