Obituary of Paul Laverne Martin
Paul L. Martin, 83 of Winfield, MO, passed away early Monday morning, May 12, 2025 at his home near Winfield. Born September 19, 1941 in Lincoln County, he was the son of Alfred John and Lydia Mary Kelly Martin.
Paul was a 1959 graduate of Winfield High School, and owned and worked at Martin Brothers Cabinets until his retirement in November 2024 after 50 years. Paul was an active church member, and enjoyed many things including riding horses, woodworking, and spending time with his beloved family.
He was united in marriage on April 15, 1960 in Winfield to Carol Ann Hines. This union was blessed with eight children: Jimmy, Donna, Kathy, Shelly, Richard, Gina, Jonathan and Becky.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lydia Martin; one brother, Rolla “Buddy” Martin; two sisters: Norma Creech and Mona Fay Mott; and one grandson, Jon Owen Martin.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Carol Martin of Winfield; their children: Jimmy Martin and his significant other, Christy, of Elsberry, MO, Donna Martin and her husband, Roy, of Foley, MO, Kathy Seago and her husband, Tim, of Troy, MO, Shelly Hunt and her husband, Tony, of Winfield, Richard Martin of Winfield, Gina Walker and her husband, Kevin, of Winfield, Jonathan Martin and his significant other, Amy, of Old Monroe, MO, and Becky Cavender and her husband, Ken, of Moscow Mills, MO; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Paul also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Paul Laverne Martin of Winfield, MO will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Winfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00p-7:00p and will conclude with a memorial service at 7:00p. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church in Lake Ozark, MO and Pastor Fielding Poe, pastor of First Baptist Church of Winfield will officiate.
