I remember how she loved her family and had her way of making you feel loved, whether she was talking with you or for many of us making a special dress. Prayers.

Cousin Dottie was a fantastic and talented woman! I will forever cherish that she took the time to make my senior prom and wedding dresses. Many many fun memories with her.
Sending my deepest condolences to her family.

My mom and Dorothy were friends before I ever met her. They were a group of girls who drove school buses for Hazelwood school district. They were quite a unique bunch of ladies. I got to know Dorothy after I drove at Hazelwood with them. She was always there for everyone and anyone who needed some help. I also had the privilege of playing bunco for several years with her. We had so much fun and lots of laughs. Dorothy was kind of in charge of getting everything ready for the game. When we would have it at her house, She always had so much food and was a very gracious hostess. She was a very hard worker And a fun lady to be around. We will all miss her.

As a cousin I have lots of wonderful memories from many years ago. Looking at your kitchen calendar with “we hope” written on the day Steve was expected to be born. You and George taking our grandmother into your home to live out her days in love and peace. You helped me plan my parent’s 25th anniversary event and then I helped you plan yours. There were many large family gatherings at your home. Other things I remember are: loads of fabric for all the wedding or prom dresses you made, your cruises (laughing about when George dropped the soap), and playing pinochle just about every week. Food: roasting pans full of mostaccioli, “your” potato salad, and bread pudding with vanilla sauce. After our parents passed, we lost contact. So glad we managed to reconnect several years ago. Rest in peace Cuz; farewell for now.

Dot was a friend to my mom since the 1970s when they both drove school buses for Hazelwood. When we moved back to St. Louis in the 90s, I was a teen, so that's when my memories of her began. When her husband George passed, she became even closer to my family. My aunt, Alice, absolutely LOVED when Dot would come by the house. She'd greet us, and then walk down the hall to Alice's room announcing, "I've got to go say, 'Hi!' to Alice and give her these pants I hemmed." Alice could always count on Dorothy to help make her clothes fit better, make her giggle, or just sit and chat. In doing so, she worked in concert with my parents to help take care of Alice, which was a gift to us all. She sewed the buttons on my wedding dress and did some of my bridesmaids' alterations. Later, when my son was very little, she'd make him laugh and laugh with her antics. The way I'll always remember Dot is as a spunky, hard-working, energetic lady who gave as much as she could.

I first met Dorthy in the seventies. We became closer when we moved back from Florida in 1992. When George passed we became closer , to told George I would look after her. We loved Dorthy and she had a special liking for Alice. She loved Alice. And when Alice got cancer Dorthy took her to Cancer Care for me , when I was driving a school. Dorthy was a retired school bus driver. And Dorthy would stay with Alice till I got off in the morning. Dorthy was a really good friend to me and was a bit feisty and fun too. She played bunco for probably twenty five or more years.l will definitely miss Dorthy. Love you Dorthy!
