Obituary of Glenda Lou Keeteman
Funeral Services for Glenda Lou Keeteman of Winfield, MO will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Asbury Chapel near Foley, MO. Rev. Larry Gallaher, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Allen, Joseph Allen, Gabriel Bryant, Elijah Bryant, Owen Keeteman and Brian Carson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shiloh Allen, Silas Keeteman, Isaac Bryant, Harrison Keeteman, Lillian Allen, McKenna Allen, Nakoda Allen and Oakland Allen.
Glenda finished her earthly race, surrounded by family on April 19, 2025. Born October 20, 1949 in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of Lloyd Cecil and Mary Isabelle Meadows Crenshaw. Glenda was a 1967 graduate of Winfield High School and attended Hannibal LaGrange College for 1 year. Glenda was united in marriage on April 26, 1969 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO to Randell Dean Keeteman. This union was blessed with three children: Meloney Lin, Chad Dean and Mandi Maree. Randy and Glenda moved to Arlington, VA when he was in the Army. Upon their return, they made Winfield their home for 55 years. Glenda was owner and operator Winfield Residential Care for 25 years.
Glenda had many things that she loved. But, nothing topped her love for spending time with her family. Among, the things that she enjoyed were listening to music, especially when Randy played. Going to blue grass festivals and jam sessions made her happy. She loved going to the lake to fish and go boating. In her younger years she was even known to ski, tube and zip sled. Planting flowers made her smile, especially roses. She would even buy clearance, half dead flowers just to see if she could revive them.
Glenda loved children. She worked in children’s church and rocked babies in the nursery. She wrote children’s plays and many Christmas programs. When she stopped doing those at church, she would have her grandkids put on little plays and reenactments at her house for the holidays, assigning everyone a part to play.
She rarely let her age or an illness get in the way of a good time. She would play “bucking bull” in the swimming pool with the grand kids, have Easter auctions, Easter egg baseball, cookie bake-offs, dork dances, comb kazoos, and would make up family challenge games. Glenda enjoyed a good game of aggravation marbles and going out to eat with her friends. She always enjoyed the horses Randy and her kids had around and decided that she wanted to raise miniature donkeys.
Glenda loved Jesus and her family. She was quick witted, enjoyed laughing, and loved BIG. She told her daughters and granddaughter “never leave the house without your ear rings and red lipstick.” So, we will continue to honor her with our red lipstick.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mary Crenshaw; one brother, Jim Crenshaw; one sister, Linda Carson and her husband, Johnny; and two brothers-in-law: Rick Freymuth and Wayne Keeteman.
Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 56 years, Randy Keeteman of Winfield; and their children: Meloney Allen of Old Monroe, Chad Keeteman and his wife, Crystal, of Elsberry, MO and Mandi Bryant and her husband, Michael, of Curryville, MO. Glenda was “Mama” to Jacob Allen and his wife, Kayla, Joseph Allen, Shiloh Allen, Owen Keeteman, Silas Keeteman, Harrison Keeteman, Gabriel Bryant, Elijah Bryant and Isaac Bryant; and great-grandmother to Lillian Allen, McKenna Allen, Nakoda Allen and Oakland Allen. Glenda also leaves three sisters-in-law: Charlotte Crenshaw of Winfield, Patti Freymuth of Foristell, MO and Dorothy Keeteman of Old Monroe, MO many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Asbury Chapel. Memorials may be made to Options for Women, Anne’s Anchor, Refuge Church of Pike County-Paper Pantry in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
