Obituary of Robert Wayne Wyatt

Funeral Services for Robert Wayne “AJ” Wyatt of Elsberry, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Donnie Kinsler will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Bufford, K.J. Grimmett, Corey Grimmett, Douglas Austin Harpole and George Sellers III. AJ, 71, was born on January 22, 1954 in Louisiana, MO, the son of Benjamin Cothron and Lelia Taylor Wyatt. He passed away early Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025 at his home near Foley, MO. AJ was united in marriage on September 1, 2012 in Elsberry to Phyllis Laverna Hunter. He worked as a track repairman and installer for Burlington Railroad and later as a farm hand, retiring in 2020. AJ was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lelia Wyatt; and one sister, Sally Catherine Wyatt Porter. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Wyatt of Foley; two daughters: Amanda Reid and her husband, Merit IV, of O’Fallon, MO and Amber Lavy and her husband, Neil, of Troy, MO; two stepdaughters: Bessie Hawley of Troy and Phylicia Heaton and her wife, Allison, of Elsberry; two step-sons: Kenneth Grimmett, Jr. “KJ” of Bowling Green, MO and Corey Grimmett and his wife, Storm, of Elsberry; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
