Obituary of Nolan Lute Herzberg
Funeral Services for Nolan Lute Herzberg of Elsberry, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of Elsberry First Christian Church will officiate.
Nolan, 89, passed away early Thursday morning, February 27, 2025 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born May 15, 1935 in Dodge City, KS, he was the son of Leo John Henry and Ina Lois Mead Herzberg. Nolan was a graduate of Wentzville High School. He was united in marriage on October 20, 1956 in Elsberry to Bernice Virginia “Bobbye” Bunke. This union was blessed with two daughters: Susan and Barbara. Nolan worked in plastic tooling for McDonnell Douglas, retiring in 1990 after 37 years of employment. He was a member of Elsberry ARPresbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Elder. Nolan was a member of Machinist Union Local #839 in St. Louis and of the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ina Herzberg; one brother, Richard Herzberg; and a stillborn daughter.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Bernice “Bobbye” Bunke Herzberg of Elsberry; their daughters: Sue Keithley and her husband, Bob, of Elsberry and Barb Sharpe of Wentzville, MO; four grandchildren: Regina Keithley of Warrenton, MO, Krystal Ley of Hawk Point, MO, Daisy Warren of Moscow Mills, MO and Eric Sharpe of Wentzville; and six great-grandchildren: Tristan Smith, of Warrenton, Tori Peterson of Warrenton, Kasandra Ley of Troy, MO, Deven Ley of Warrenton, Christopher Warren of Moscow Mills and Alex Warren, also of Moscow Mills. Nolan had the pleasure of having a five generation family including three great, great-grandchildren: Lilyana Misuraco of Troy, Ryleigh Hitchings of Troy and Weylyn Ley of Warrenton. Nolan also leaves one brother, Carl Herzberg of Wentzville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Elsberry Health Care Center in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
