Obituary of Ruby Jean Hill
Funeral Services for Ruby Jean Hill of Union, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Foley Baptist Church in Foley, MO. Rev. Lyndel Thompson of Bowling Green, MO will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Edmundson, Whitney Edmundson, Dale Gibler, Ame Gibler, Dayna Gibler and Misty Gibler. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Gibler, Robert Nappier, Braxton Edmundson and Skyler Edmundson.
Ruby, 94, passed away Monday evening, February 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 11, 1930 in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Frank Levi and Philena Kelly Lusse. Ruby was a 1948 graduate of Winfield High School. She earned her Associate’s Degree from St. Mary’s College. Ruby was united in marriage on November 12, 1955 in Winfield to Delmar Dale Hill. This union was blessed with two daughters: Betty and Mary. She worked as a real estate agent for Coose Century 21 Real Estate, retiring in 1995. Ruby was a longtime member of Foley Baptist Church, where she played the piano.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Philena Lusse; and her beloved husband of 20 years, Dale Hill, who died on June 17, 1976.
Survivors include two daughters: Betty Nappier and her husband Robert, of Union and Mary Gibler and her husband, Darrell, of Foley; three grandchildren: Dale Gibler and his wife, Ame, Whitney Edmunson and her husband, Tony, and Misty Gibler; and three great-grandchildren: Dayna Gibler and Braxton and Skylar Edmundson. Ruby also leaves one sister, Betty Elston of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Foley Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to New Salem Cemetery in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
