Obituary of Alberta Mae Davis

Alberta Mae Davis Funeral Services for Alberta Mae Davis of Elsberry, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes will officiate. Mrs. Davis, 95, passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2015 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO. Born June 23, 1919 in Hamburg, IL, she was the daughter of Levert Alvin and Sarah Ellen Brant Skirvin, Sr. Alberta was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. She was united in marriage on September 14, 1941 in Elsberry to Raymond Terry Davis. This union was blessed with two sons: Terry and Berry. Alberta worked as a laborer for Forrest Keeling Nursery for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levert and Sarah Skirvin, Sr.; one son, Berry Davis; one grandson, Terry Dale Davis; two sisters: Ollie Mary Reeves and Ethel Imogene Skirvin; four brothers: Louis Henry Skirvin, Frederick Lee Skirvin, Levert Alvin Skirvin, Jr. and George Marion Skirvin; and her beloved husband of nearly 38 years, Raymond "Dock" Davis, who died September 6, 1979. Survivors include one son, Terry Davis of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Leigh Ann Davis, Barry Davis and Renee Davis; and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
