Obituary of Michael Taul Patton

Funeral Services for Michael Taul Patton of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Dr. Dave Martin, pastor of Crosspoint Church of Dardenne, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Patton II, James Patton, Michael R. Patton, James Patton, Jr., Richard Brown and Austin Brown.

 

Mr. Patton, 74, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, December 13, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country, MO.  Born January 18, 1943 in Paynesville, MO, he was the son of Joseph Nicholas and Dorothy Grace Wright Patton.  He was a 1961 graduate of Clopton High School.  Mike was united in marriage on April 20, 1968 in St. Charles, MO to Barbara Ann Hendricks.  This union was blessed with four children: James, Josie, Michael II and Trisha.  Mike owned Mike’s Auto Sales in Elsberry for the past 14 years.  He was a former grocery store and Mobile gas station owner for a number of years.  He and Barb also ran The Red Door Restaurant and Lounge in Elsberry for several years.  Mike farmed on the family farm in Paynesville for most of his life.

 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Nick and Dorothy Patton; one brother, James Henry Patton; and one brother-in-law, Ronnie Hartley.

 

Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Barb Patton of Elsberry; their children: James Patton and his wife, Cheryl, of Wentzville, Josie Cohea and her husband, Jeff, of Troy, MO ,Michael Patton II and his wife, Jayne, of Wentzville, and Trisha Brown and her husband, Richard, of Lake St. Louis, MO; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Mike also leaves one sister, JoAnn Hartley of Sarasota, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the Missouri Baptist Medical Center ICU in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
