Obituary of Viola Elizabeth Henry

Viola E. Henry

 Funeral Services for Viola Elizabeth Henry of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.   J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes will officiate with burial in St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery near Old Monroe, MO.  Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Vaughn, Dustin Henry, Doug Hicks, Ethan Vaughn, Aaron Vaughn and Jason Hackmann.

 Mrs. Henry, 93, passed away Thursday morning, November 23, 2017 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO.  Born September 10, 1924 in the Darrouzett, TX, she was the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth “Lizzie” De Smith Fausset.  Viola graduated from Darrouzett High School where she excelled in tennis and basketball.  She was employed as a secretary at LaRue’s Feed Store in Winfield for several years.  She later worked as a seamstress at Angelica Garment Factory in Winfield, and at Dove Manufacturing in Troy.  Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles and playing cards.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lizzie Fausset; four brothers: Kenneth Fausset, Alfred Fausset, Loren Fausset and Russell Fausset; two sisters: Ruth Terrell and Frances McClung; two step-brothers: Haurice Fausset and Maurice Fausset; one son, Randy Henry; one daughter, Diana Hackmann; and one grandson, Bryan Hackmann.

 Survivors include two sons: Darrel Henry and his wife, Stormi, of Silex, MO, and Jeff Henry of Old Monroe, MO; one daughter, Sandy Burkemper and her husband, Bob, of Winfield; her son-in-law, Gerald Hackmann of Old Monroe; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  Viola also leaves one sister, Bessie Lee Duke of Booker, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the Services at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.  Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O.
