Obituary of William Edward Cohea

 Services for William Edward “Bill” Cohea, Jr. of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry.  Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Millcreek Cemetery near Silex, MO.  Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Cohea, Joe Cohea, Dave Cohea, Adam Cohea, Andrew Cohea, Jon Phillips and Leighton Cohea.


 Mr. Cohea, 59, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 1, 2017 at his home near Elsberry.  Born February 2, 1958 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of William Edward and Jeanette Rose Mills Cohea, Sr.  He was a 1976 graduate of Clopton High School near Annada, MO.  He served his country in the U.S. Marines from May 30, 1978 until he was honorably discharged as a Corporal on May 29, 1982.  He was united in marriage to Lesa Ellen Whiteside on July 16, 1994 in Troy, MO.  Bill was employed as a printer for Mimir Flexoprinting in Troy.  He was an amazing cook, and loved baseball, whether he was playing or watching the Cardinals.


 Bill was preceded in death by his father, William E. “Bud” Cohea, Sr. on November 12, 2009.


 Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 23 years, Lesa Cohea of Elsberry; two sons: Adam Cohea and his wife, Sarah, of Wentzville, MO, and Andrew Cohea and his wife, Brandylyn, of Spokane, WA; one daughter, Alicia Cohea and her companion, Jon Phillips, of Elsberry; and four grandchildren: Leighton, Jackson, Ian and Owen Cohea.  Bill also leaves three brothers: Tim Cohea of Annada, Joe Cohea and his wife, Pat, of Elsberry, and David Cohea and his wife, Dixi, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.


 Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the Family of Bill Cohea or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.  Online condolences may be made at www.carterricksfuneralhome.com.
