Obituary of Ronald Warren Rogers

Funeral Services for Ronald Warren Rogers of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.  Rev. John Birkhead, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Bowling Green, MO, will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield.  Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Gifford, Nathan Rogers, Bill Tippit, Thad Harris, Jason Rogers, Christopher Rogers and Lance Bock.

Mr. Rogers, 70, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home.  Born January 25, 1947 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Joseph Elmer and Verna Lillian Lusse Rogers.  Ron was a 1965 graduate of Winfield High School.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1966-1968 in the Vietnam War.  He was united in marriage on May 14, 1966 at the New Salem Baptist Church to Norma Jean Tippit.  This union was blessed with two children: Jason and Ronna.  Ron owned and operated an excavation business.  He loved model trains, classic cars and taking his cherished and loyal dogs to the farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Verna Rogers; and one infant sister, Lillian Jean Rogers.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Norma Rogers of Winfield; their children: Jason Rogers and his wife, Nikki, of O’Fallon, MO and Ronna Moran and her husband, Roger, of Troy, MO; fourteen grandchildren: Kristina, Michelle, Yulia, Daniel, Rachel, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jonathan, David, Allison, Christopher, Elizabeth, Connor and Sebastian; and five great-grandchildren: Atticus, Boone, Lucy Joy, Reagan and Jayden.  Ron also leaves one brother, Nathan Rogers and his wife, Lee, of Middleton, MO; one sister, Joy Cullom and her husband, Chuck, of Winfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
