Obituary of Sharon Virginia Holmes

Funeral Services for Sharon Virginia Holmes of Pacific, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. MO. Deacon Neal Westhoff, of Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ron Pecoraro, Kyle Cook, Cody Waggoner, John Frisosky, Justin Frisosky, and Andrew Vassas. Mrs. Holmes, 74, passed away late Thursday morning, January 19, 2017 at St. Andrew’s at St. Francis Place in Eureka, MO. Born August 21, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Bernard Patrick and Ethel Ransom O’Brien. Sharon worked as a steelworker at Hussman for many years. She was united in marriage on April 6, 1984 in Elsberry, MO to Michael David Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Ethel O’Brien; one sister, Jackie Burgess; one grandson, Randy Eggering; and her beloved husband of nearly 25 years, Michael Holmes, who died January 2, 2009. Survivors include three daughters: Debra Vassas of Troy, MO, Jacqueline “Jackie” Goode and her husband, Michael, of Carrollton, IL and Tama Pecoraro and her husband, Phil, of Wildwood, MO; two sons: Donald “Butch” Cook and his wife, Denise, of St. Genevieve, MO and Dan Cook and his wife, Denise, of Pacific; one stepdaughter, Bonny Holmes of Foley; one step-son, David Holmes and his wife, Lori, of Foley; twenty grandchildren: Paige, Lauren, Brad, Kyle, Cody, Lindsay, Ron, Michele, Karen, Nicole, Andrew, John, Justin, Amanda, Laura, Nicholas, April, Casey, Kayla and Dani; and thirty-six great-grandchildren. Sharon also leaves two sisters: Barbara Czarnecki of Gore, OK and Carol Bartley and her husband, Cy, of Intercachen, FL; one brother, John Burgess and his wife, Romala, of Troy, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
