Obituary of John Richard Wilder

Funeral Services for John Richard “Red” Wilder of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. The family and friends of John Wilder will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Boschert, Patrick Slater, Derek Boschert, Jim Wood, Austin Fletcher, Joseph Weber, Shawn Holt and Jared Inman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Watts, Allen Coggins and Derek Shelton. Mr. Wilder, 46, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, January 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born September 24, 1970 in Redlands, CA, he was the son of John Richard and Joyce Virginia Burns Wilder. Red was a freelance concrete worker for many years. He was united in marriage on April 1, 2011 in Winfield to Bonnie Slater. He loved to play co-ed softball and baseball. In his spare time, Red could be found hanging out at the river or singing in a band. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joyce Wilder. Survivors include his beloved wife of five years, Bonnie Wilder of Troy, MO; two daughters: Skyler and Alicia Wilder, both of Winfield; and one grandchild due in July. Red also leaves his sister, Shirley Brown and her husband, Dale, of Georgetown, TN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
