Obituary of John Wayne Brugmann

A Celebration of Life for John Wayne Brugmann of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Deacon Neal Westhoff of the Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe, MO will officiate. Full Military Honors will immediately follow. Mr. Brugmann, 69, passed away Monday morning, January 2, 2017 at his home. Born July 3, 1947 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Carl F. and Ruth A. Ereiser Brugmann. John served his country in the United States Army from December 1, 1966 until he was honorably discharged on December 12, 1968 as a SP4-T. He was employed in Appliance Sales at Sears and Automotive Sales at Advance Auto Parts. John was united in marriage on August 20, 1994 in Florissant to Mary Elizabeth Scaturro. Traveling to various racetracks, John was an avid NASCAR fan, particularly Dale Earnhardt. John also traveled with the “U-Turn” Car Club in his 1939 Chevy. He loved to ride Harley and Goldwing motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth Brugmann. Survivors include his beloved wife of 22 years, Mary Brugmann of Winfield; his daughters: Jody Hansel of St. Charles and Amy Brugmann of Lincoln, NE and one granddaughter, Amanda Hansel. John also leaves his stepdaughter, Jamie Slattery of Florissant; his stepson, Jason Slattery, also of Florissant; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
