Obituary of Harold T. Ethington

Funeral Services for Harold T. Ethington of Troy, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Rich Rhea, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Troy, and Rev. Mike Larson, Minister of Education at First Baptist Church of Troy, will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be James Ethington, Chris Rambaud, Jon Rambaud, Travis McElroy, Tim Frazier and Ronnie Sitton. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Gary Ethington. Mr. Ethington, 88, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born November 5, 1927 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of Amos and Minnie Honican Ethington, Sr. Harold was united in marriage on July 15, 1950 in Old Monroe, MO to Lorene Marie Dickmeyer. This union was blessed with three children: Alan, Mitchell and Joyce. Harold worked as a paint shop foreman for McDonnell Douglas, retiring on June 30, 1987. He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Minnie Ethington, Sr.; one sister, Elizabeth Abney; six brothers: Cecil, Amos, Jr., Arthur, Woodrow, Walter and Charles Ethington; one son, Alan Ethington, on January 21, 2015; and his beloved wife of 65 years, Lorene Ethington, on January 3, 2016. Survivors include one son, Mitchell Ethington and his wife, Janet, of Troy; one daughter; Joyce Rambaud and her husband, Alan, also of Troy; five grandchildren: Kelly, Chris, James, Jon and Megan; and three great-grandchildren: Pacer, Paisley and Vincent. Harold also leaves one brother, Robert P. Ethington of Troy; one sister, Geneva Henebry of Hawk Point, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield and again from 12:00 noon until the time of Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016.
