Obituary of Buford Francis Walker

Funeral Services for Buford Francis Walker of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church, will officiate. Mr. Walker, 77, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born May 25, 1939 in Arkansas, he was the son of Rabi and Modine Eaton Walker. Buford was united in marriage on July 31, 1982 in Golden, CO to Olive Jean Rader. He was employed as the setup person for Moogg Automotive, retiring after 36 years. Buford later worked as a custodian for the Winfield School District, retiring after 8 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rabi and Modine Walker; and one daughter, Rita. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 34 years, Jean Walker of Winfield; six children: Mary Calloway and her husband, David “Bucky”, of Foley, MO, Kristine Benus of Centralia, MO, Melissa Stortz of Perryville, MO, Gina Whitworth and her husband, Shawn, of Scott City, MO, Kim Calloway of Foley and Kemper Pemberton, Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Tellahome, TN; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Buford also leaves other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
