Obituary of Tony Louis Skirvin

Funeral Services for Tony Louis Skirvin of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Richard Pillers, pastor of the Elsberry Assembly of God Church, will officiate with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Clark, Mark Williams, Charlie Harrell, Brendan Slover, Jim Pitzer and Bill Harrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicholas Slover, Abby Skirvin, Brayden Skirvin, Hunter Skirvin, Taylor Skirvin, Kylee Skirvin, Eric Skirvin, Megan Skirvin, Lexie, Jeremy Skirvin, Brian Skirvin, Zackary Skirvin and Bryan Pearson. Mr. Skirvin, 61, passed away Tuesday morning, July 5, 2016, 2016 at his home. Born December 15, 1954 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Louis H. and Bessie M. Penn Skirvin. Tony was a 1973 graduate of Clopton High School. He was the Mechanic Manager for Glazer for the past 9 years. Tony was united in marriage on June 19, 1993 in Foley, MO to Irene Gonzales. Their home was blessed with seven children: Jeremy, Brian, Zackary, Jessica, Jason, Natalie and James. Tony was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Skirvin. Survivors include his beloved wife of 23 years, Irene Skirvin of Elsberry; their children: Jeremy Skirvin and his wife, Michelle, of Eolia, MO, Brian Skirvin and his wife, Loren, of Spain, Zackary Skirvin of Virginia, Jessica Skirvin of Hawaii, Jason Ramirez of Houston, TX, Natalie Mundell of St. Charles, MO and James Mundell, also of St. Charles; and ten grandchildren: Brendan Slover, Nicholas Slover, Abby Skirvin, Brayden Skirvin, Hunter Skirvin, Taylor Skirvin, Kylee Skirvin, Eric Skirvin, Megan Skirvin and Lexie Bender. Tony also leaves his mother, Bessie Skirvin of Paynesville, MO; one brother, Rick Skirvin and his wife, Marie, of Eolia; one sister, Brenda Pitzer and her husband, Jim, of Louisiana, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
